Ultrasound helps identify the location, depth and characteristics of the area. This gives the aesthetic practitioner more information before deciding on the next step. In selected cases, it can also support an ultrasound-guided approach to treatment by the appropriate medical professional.

A key tool for vascular safety The face contains many important blood vessels. Their position can vary from one person to another, and some vessels may be closer to the surface than expected. With Doppler ultrasound, blood flow can be visualised in real time. This can be particularly helpful in high-risk areas such as the nose, temples, forehead and tear trough. Ultrasound does not replace proper medical training, anatomical knowledge or safe injection technique. However, it adds an extra layer of information that can support safer decision-making.
